Meet Signe Pringle

Estonian-born and Marylander at heart, Signe Pringle is a people-first leader. She understands the value of building real connections, listening and providing viable solutions.

Signe Pringle began working in Maryland state government after earning a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from University of Baltimore. Ms. Pringle is the former Deputy Secretary at the Maryland Department of Commerce, where she led a team of 200 economic development professionals attracting and growing businesses in the state and marketing the state for tourism, film and the arts. She was instrumental in fostering relationships with Maryland CEOs, C-level executives across the globe and foreign dignitaries.

Throughout her more than 20 years of business development and management experience, Ms. Pringle has held a variety of roles including Assistant Secretary and Managing Director of the Office of International Investment and Trade responsible for foreign direct investment attraction and export promotion. Prior to joining the state government, Ms. Pringle worked as a global supply chain manager at an international marketing and distribution company in Estonia.

Ms. Pringle’s unique global perspective and experience enables her to connect quickly with new people. This skillset was instrumental in planning and directing more than a dozen foreign trade missions for the Governors and Maryland business delegations. She is equally adept at handling business operations as she oversaw a multi-million dollar budget, finance programs, administration, human resources, and business and marketing activities.

Ms. Pringle is the past president of States International Development Organizations, a leading U.S. organization dedicated to supporting state trade organizations. She was appointed member of the U.S. Investment Advisory Council advising on government policies and programs to increase foreign direct investment in the U.S. and has served on the boards of the Center for Global Business at Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and University of Maryland Baltimore County Research Park and Ms. Pringle is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Maryland, an independent statewide leadership program that develops informed senior-level leaders.

Prior to obtaining her Master’s Degree, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Banking and Accounting, from Estonian Business School and a certificate from the Copenhagen Business School in Denmark. Ms. Pringle lives in Westminster, MD with her two sons.
